Retired Air Force Brigadier General Charles "Chuck" Yeager was the Grand Marshal of the AC Delco 500 at Rockingham Motor Speedway on October 22, 1988. I was fortunate enough to have an infield pass and he was nice enough to sign my pass after posing for photos with the drivers. I will include the photos along with the Autograph.
Drivers in group photo include Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt, Sr., Darrell Waltrip, Geoff Bodine, Michael Waltrip, and Davey Allison.
Charles Elwood Yeager was a United States Air Force officer, flying ace, and record-setting test pilot who in 1947 became the first pilot in history confirmed to have exceeded the speed of sound in level flight.
