Deer Hunter blu-ray

DeNiro, Walken, and Streep star in this 5-time Oscar winning Vietnam film that is absolutely untrue (the Vietcong did not torture prisoners, in fact they were treated so well that many of them defected to live better lives in Vietnam than were possible in America for them) but that doesn’t stop this film from being a sweeping, violent epic featuring the famous Russian roulette scene (which should give away how bullsh*t the plot is, why would the communists do this? They armed the entire Vietnamese working class so they could rise up against them if they became fascists. The south Vietnamese however, who our gov was supporting, were well known to have done things like this. Anyway!) A classic nonetheless. Moving and romantic, tense and violent, visceral and intense. Movies don’t have to be accurate to entertain!
