Eaton Gigabit Network Card

The Eaton NETWORK-M3 is a Gigabit network card that adds Ethernet connectivity that is both secure and fast to Eaton uninterruptible power supplies and rack power distribution units. By linking the power hardware to your IP network, it allows you to monitor, control, and automate critical power assets without leaving your desk.

Installation is simple: insert the card into the mini slot on supported models such as the Eaton 5PX, 9PX, 93PS, and others, connect a network cable, and assign an address. From that moment, the UPS appears in Eaton Brightlayer Data Centers software or in a standard web browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. The card works on IPv4 and IPv6 networks, so it fits into new or existing infrastructure without special configuration.

Security is built in rather than bolted on. The NETWORK-M3 meets UL 2900-1 and IEC 62443-4-2 requirements and follows a zero trust architecture, which helps detect threats, protect credentials, and block unauthorized commands. This makes the card well suited for environments where power equipment must meet corporate or regulatory security standards.

Once online, the card becomes a hub for power and environmental data. It can send real time email or SMS alerts for events such as voltage anomalies, battery status changes, or fan faults. It also supports orderly server shutdown scripts that preserve data when an extended outage occurs. Pair the card with an optional temperature and humidity probe to gain a fuller picture of rack conditions without adding separate sensors.

These capabilities help IT teams in small server rooms, enterprise data centers, branch offices, and edge computing sites reduce the need for physical checks and respond faster to power issues.
