The scanner is USB-powered, so no batteries or external power are required.

It can scan a single page in as fast as 5.5 seconds and accommodates extra-long pages and ID cards.
The included Epson ScanSmart Software allows you to easily scan, review, and save files, and the Nuance OCR feature can create searchable PDFs and editable Word and Excel files. It has an optical resolution of 600 dpi and can scan single pages as fast as 5.5 seconds for letter-size paper. For multi-page jobs, it can scan at 10 ppm at 300 dpi for 8.5 x 11 inch sheets of paper. It can scan documents up to 8.5 x 72 inches.
