A World at War, first published by GMT in 2003, is a grand strategy game that simulates the global scope of WWII—military, economic, political, diplomatic, and technological. Evolving from the Advanced Third Reich and the Empire of the Rising Sun, it allows players to explore countless alternate histories: a successful German invasion of Britain, Japan taking India, or the Allies failing to develop the atomic bomb. With rules covering naval construction, oil shortages, mobilization choices, diplomacy, and technology, players can test “what if” scenarios while commanding the fate of nations.

The second edition refines gameplay with input from thousands of sessions, adding enhanced submarine warfare, strategic bombing, and more balanced fronts.
