These amazing novelty Treasure Boxes were created and designed for Harmony Kingdom by artistic director Martin Perry and handmade from crushed marble then distributed to local craftspeople to paint, tint and highlight their intricate details.
This "Creature Comforts" treasure box from 1999 is number 678 of a Limited Edition of 1000, and shows the power struggle in the household between the cats and the dogs! There are two dogs determindly guarding the soft leather armchair, with a ginger cat desperately hanging on at the side. I'm wonder if they realaise that under the cushion (lid) is another cat who has taken his food with him for safety and peace and quiet, or if they have him trapped!
