The GenRad 1539-A Stroboslave is a versatile stroboscope light source, ideal for motion studies and high-speed photography, except for tachometry. Multiple units can be employed for multiple light sources. Its detachable lamp allows observation of objects in hard-to-reach areas, with a strobotron lamp assembly insertable through a one-inch hole. Lacking an internal oscillator, it can't function as a tachometer but operates directly from various triggers. It produces the same light output as the Type 1531-A Strobotac, operating over the same ranges from 0 to 25,000 flashes per minute. The strobotron lamp and reflector are connected via a five-foot flexible cable for close positioning to the subject.
